From the Takeover to a Clear Strategic Direction
Following a successful start to the partnership in May 2024, when Jezeršek Catering took over management of the castle restaurant, hotel, and café at the initiative of the Riedl family, Taggenbrunn entered a phase of clear strategic direction in 2025. In recent months, Taggenbrunn has established itself as a major culinary and event destination in the Alpe-Adria region.
Its growth and rising reputation have also contributed significantly to the further international positioning of Jezeršek Catering—a company that, over the course of the year, was responsible for first-class catering at numerous prestigious sports and business events in Austria and other European countries.
Redesigned Website and First Industry Awards
One of the most significant developments in 2025 is the complete redesign of the Taggenbrunn website www.taggenbrunn.at. It was designed to reflect the character of the destination even more clearly and to optimally meet the needs of modern visitors.
The positive feedback from guests confirms that the destination is on the right track. Rising visitor numbers, an expanded range of offerings, and growing interest from the general public clearly reflect this development—further underscored by the first official awards.
“These are significant accolades that underscore our ambitious vision and the high standard of the culinary experiences in Taggenbrunn. At the same time, they serve as valuable motivation for the continued development of the destination and our team, which contributes to Taggenbrunn’s success story day after day with its expertise and dedication,” explains Martin Jezeršek, Director of Jezeršek Catering.
The New Horizon – the starting point for Taggenbrunn’s new identity
In April, Taggenbrunn Castle became the venue for one of the region’s most significant business and culinary events—namely, The New Horizon, an event dedicated to a fresh start. Conceived less than a year after the estate’s acquisition, the event marked the beginning of a new chapter and served as a clear signal of the direction in which the destination is heading. The evening, which went far beyond the scope of a traditional event, attracted more than 500 guests, including numerous well-known personalities. The program, featuring modern culinary formats such as the Gourmet Catwalk, the Table of Delights, and the galeristic concept kulinART, demonstrated that cuisine can be far more than just a meal—namely, an experience, an art form, and a form of storytelling. It is precisely this approach that is increasingly shaping the identity of Taggenbrunn—a place where gastronomy, culture, and contemporary creativity converge.
Unforgettable culinary experiences for every taste
At Taggenbrunn, Jezeršek Catering brings to life the vision of a boutique-style, sustainable cuisine based on local ingredients, seasonality, and respect for the environment. Visitors can choose from a variety of culinary experiences —from brunch to a 5-course meal on the cozy panoramic terrace to a picnic among the vineyards. The entire offering allows guests to experience an authentic connection to the cuisine, the surroundings, and the unique character of the estate. For active travelers, e-bike rentals are also available to explore the surrounding trails and viewpoints. Naturally, the offerings adapt to the seasons, and we carefully develop new experiences for the winter and holiday seasons.
Ennstal-Classic and Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing
Taggenbrunn also hosted this year’s prestigious Ennstal-Classic —one of Europe’s most renowned classic car rallies. On the first day, participants enjoyed a dinner featuring modern Alpe-Adria cuisine at the Burgrestaurant Taggenbrunn; over the following days, Jezeršek Catering supported the event with culinary offerings at select locations across Austria. Later in the year, Jezeršek Catering was responsible for hospitality services at numerous sporting events—including the Carinthian Run, the ATP 125 tennis tournament in Bad Waltersdorf, and hospitality services for the UEFA Champions League (for SK Sturm Graz and FC Red Bull Salzburg). The company also managed a series of business events, including notably the event organized by the Austrian Sports Aid Foundation.
The fall portion of the season was marked by the premiere of the Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing. With more than 600 visitors, this was the largest event organized by Jezeršek Catering at Taggenbrunn to date. The festival featured 32 winemakers from Carinthia, Slovenia, Italy, and throughout Austria, complemented by other select exhibitors. The diverse program included a professional masterclass, a blind tasting, a “Wine 360°” experience, a Tunin ritual, and exclusive tastings—accompanied by an energetic performance by Emely Myles and DJ Rinabro. The festival received an exceptionally positive response and, even in its first edition, established itself as the beginning of a new tradition that will continue in 2026.
Magical December at Taggenbrunn Castle

It ranges from Sunday brunches to a New Year’s Eve dinner and a special New Year’s Day brunch, which this year can be combined for the first time with an overnight stay at the Boutiquehotel Taggenbrunn****. The December experience is rounded out by a selection of gift certificates for anyone looking to give the gift of an authentic culinary experience or a short getaway in the castle’s atmosphere
