The Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing Returns to Taggenbrunn
Following its successful premiere,
the Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing returns to Taggenbrunn Castle
in Carinthia on October 15, 2026. More than 35 winemakers from Austria, Slovenia, and
Italy—as well as, for the first time, winemakers from Istria, Croatia—will present
over 100 wines. Tastings, masterclasses, and other wine experiences with
wine experts will be accompanied by regional cuisine before the festival
transitions into its second chapter in the evening—clubbing with music, dancing, and
socializing.
More than 30 winemakers and over 100 wines
Starting at 2:00 p.m., the historic Taggenbrunn Castle will once again serve as a gathering place for the wine community of the Alpe-Adria region. More than 35 winemakers will present over 100 wines. In addition to producers from Austria, Slovenia, and Italy , winemakers from Istria, Croatia, will be participating for the first time this year. Winemakers from Carinthia are also part of the Austrian contingent, thereby bringing the wine region surrounding the venue into the festival program.
The focus of the afternoon is on the wines and the people behind them. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the winemakers in person, taste their wines, and discover different wine regions, grape varieties, and winemaking approaches. The tasting program is complemented by masterclasses and other wine experiences led by wine experts, offering the chance to learn more about selected wines and the diversity of the wine landscape in the Alpe-Adria region.
Regional cuisine is also an important part of the festival. It complements the wines on display and showcases the culinary diversity of the Alpe-Adria region.
The first edition of the festival in 2025 welcomed more than 600 visitors and over 35 winemakers to Taggenbrunn, laying the groundwork for its continuation in 2026.
Wine in the Heart of Taggenbrunn
Taggenbrunn Castle, located near St. Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, is surrounded by about 40 hectares of vineyards. Wine is therefore an integral part of the estate and its identity. Taggenbrunn also produces its own wines, which are presented at the festival alongside the wines of the participating winemakers.
Today, this historic estate combines viticulture, gastronomy, hospitality, culture, and events, offering the perfect setting for a festival dedicated to the diverse wine and culinary landscape of the Alpe-Adria region.
One day, two chapters – from festival to clubbing
As the afternoon draws to a close, the festival atmosphere gradually gives way to the evening. A sundowner with live music at Taggenbrunn Castle sets the mood for the second half of the day.
The second part of the event begins at 7:00 p.m. After an afternoon filled with wine, fine dining, and personal encounters with the winemakers, the club night brings DJ music, dancing, and a relaxed atmosphere to the castle.
This transition is an essential part of the festival’s concept: “One day, two chapters—from festival to clubbing.” While the afternoon is dedicated to discovering wines and engaging in personal conversations with their producers, the evening focuses on a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Where Business Meets Wine
On the same day, the Alpe-Adria Business Conference will also take place in Taggenbrunn. It begins at 9:00 a.m. and brings together representatives from business, tourism, sports, and the hospitality industry from Austria, Slovenia, and the entire Alpe-Adria region. Using real-world examples, successful projects, and best practices, participants will explore how sporting events, strategic infrastructure, and innovative experiences can strengthen destinations, extend the tourism season, create international visibility, and open up new business opportunities. Following the morning’s business program, networking will continue at the wine festival at Taggenbrunn Castle.
Behind the Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing
The Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing is organized by the J-Hospitality Group, which has also been responsible for the hotel and restaurant operations in Taggenbrunn since 2024. Today, the group oversees the Taggenbrunn Castle Restaurant (Falstaff, Gault&Millau), the boutique hotel, and the café, as well as the organization of events and experiences.
This year's edition is also being organized in collaboration with partners who contribute to the festival's cross-border character. Kronen Zeitung is the main media partner for the 2026 edition, while Transgourmet, Koželj Wines, and Jacques Lemans are partners of the festival.
Now in its second year , the Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing continues the concept established in 2025: bringing together winemakers, wines, cuisine, and visitors from four countries in the Alpe-Adria region in one location in Carinthia and creating a gathering place for the region’s wine and culinary scene.
